{"id":210,"date":"2007-06-25T08:19:03","date_gmt":"2007-06-25T11:19:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/talsoft.com.ar\/weblog\/?p=210"},"modified":"2007-06-25T08:19:03","modified_gmt":"2007-06-25T11:19:03","slug":"google-safe-browsing-api","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.talsoft-security.com\/site\/google-safe-browsing-api\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Safe Browsing API"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hace m\u00c3\u00a1s o menos una semana que Brian Rakowski y Garrett Casto, de los grupos Anti-Phishing y Anti-Malware de Google, <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/apis\/safebrowsing\/\">anunciaron la disponibilidad de el primer API de Safe Browsing<\/a>. El ejemplo t\u00c3\u00adpico del uso de la tecnolog\u00c3\u00ada Safebrowsing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/tools\/firefox\/safebrowsing\/\">es Mozilla Firefox<\/a>, para el que existe una recomendable extensi\u00c3\u00b3n con denominaci\u00c3\u00b3n hom\u00c3\u00b3nima.<\/p>\n<p>Este API es de \u00c3\u00adndole experimental, y permite que las aplicaciones cliente que lo utilicen hagan consultas contra <a href=\"http:\/\/sb.google.com\/safebrowsing\/update?version=goog-black-url:1:1\">las listas negras de sitios de phishing y malware<\/a> que Google mantiene actualizadas. El resultado es a\u00c3\u00b1adir una capa de seguridad, dictaminando si las URLs a visitar o de las cuales la aplicaci\u00c3\u00b3n cliente captura datos son fuentes de distribuci\u00c3\u00b3n de malware o sitios de phishing.<\/p>\n<p>Que nadie piense que Safebrowsing es la soluci\u00c3\u00b3n definitiva al problema del phishing, porque no lo es. Es, como se ha comentado, una capa m\u00c3\u00a1s de seguridad que ayuda a mitigar el problema, pero que ni de lejos resuelve el terrible problema que representan los sitios Web ileg\u00c3\u00adtimos y\/o destinados a la distribuci\u00c3\u00b3n de malware.<\/p>\n<p>Los m\u00c3\u00a9todos de listas negras tienen muchas limitaciones y son muchos los que lo critican. Son soluciones toscas, pero \u00c3\u00batiles. La principal problem\u00c3\u00a1tica de las listas negras y blancas es la actualizaci\u00c3\u00b3n de las mismas. Hasta que una entrada no es clasificada como buena o mala, el producto no dictaminar\u00c3\u00a1 la bondad ni la benignidad, con lo que la ventana de tiempo puede ser suficientemente amplia como para anular el efecto beneficioso de operar con la lista.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante, la seguridad se construye capa a capa, y cualquier capa que ayude es siempre buena.
