Exactamente como suena. El ganador fue <a href=\"http:\/\/conservancy.softwarefreedom.org\/members\/\">Software Freedom Conservancy<\/a>,  organizaci\u00f3n que nuclea y defiende a variados proyectos open source  como Amarok (el reproductor de audios que estoy utilizando en este mismo  momento), Inkscape (la aplicaci\u00f3n de dise\u00f1o vectorial), jQuery  (lframework de JavaScript), Samba y Wine. En este caso en particular,  SCF estaba defendiendo los intereses de BusyBox ante la compa\u00f1\u00eda  Westinghouse Digital Electronics, quienes hab\u00edan copiado, modificado y  distribuido BusyBox en el firmware de sus productos para televisores de  alta definici\u00f3n incumpliendo con la licencia GPL.<\/p>\n<p>Digamos que si alguien quiere hacer software privativo, est\u00e1 en toda su  libertad de hacerlo, no hay ning\u00fan inconveniente con eso. El problema  grave y legal viene cuando se utiliza c\u00f3digo abierto para hacer algo  cerrado, por lo menos en el caso de la licencia GPL, ya que existen  licencias como Apache y BSD que s\u00ed permiten hacerlo.<\/p>\n<p>Como compensaci\u00f3n, Westinghouse deber\u00e1 dejar de vender los productos,  deber\u00e1 abonar a la SFC aproximadamente 150 mil d\u00f3lares por da\u00f1os y  donar\u00e1 los productos restantes (HDTV) a caridad. Como no pod\u00eda ser de  modo, aqu\u00ed viene el aspecto negativo: Westinghouse Digital Electronics  no est\u00e1 pasando por un buen momento econ\u00f3mico y se ha declarado en  bancarrota en el Estado de California. En consecuencia, la SFC deber\u00e1  esperar tranquilo hasta cobrar el dinero.
